Equine Rehabilitation & Performance Intensives

Where true transformation begins

There comes a point where you realise...

It's not about training harder.

It's not about fixing behaviour.

Something deeper is going on.

Potential

Your horse may feel:

  • Tense, reactive, or shutdown

  • Inconsistent or unable to perform at

         their true level

  • Disconnected, resistant, or misunderstood

  • Held back by their trauma

This is where everything changes

These intensives are designed to go beyond surface-level training - working with the underlying cause of behavioural, physical, and performance challenges.

Through a deeply personalised approach, your horse is supported in releasing tension, restoring balance, and returning to a state where true performance and connection can emerge naturally.

Two Pathways, One Outcome: Lasting Change

The Reset Intensive

Nervous System Regulation & Recovery

For horses who are:

  • Overwhelmed, reactive, or anxious

  • Shut down or disconnected

  • Holding tension from past experiences

This intensive focuses on:

  • Creating safety within the horse

  • Regulating the nervous system

  • Allowing the horse to release, reset, and rebalance

Outcome:

A calmer, more present horse - able to think, process, and reconnect.

The Deep Transformation Intensive

Performance & Rehabilitation Reset

For horses who:

  • Are capable of more but feel blocked

  • Struggle with consistency or resistance

  • Present complex behavioural or physical challenges

This is a deeper level of work, addressing:

  • Root causes of performance limitations

  • Physical restriction and compensation patterns

  • Emotional and behavioural patterns affecting performance

Outcome:

A horse that moves, responds, and performs with greater ease, confidence, and willingness.

Is This Right for Your Horse?

This is for you if:

  • You feel there is a deeper cause behind your horse’s challenges

  • You’ve tried multiple approaches without lasting resolution

  • Your horse is not fully relaxed, consistent, or connected

  • You want a more complete, long-term solution - not a quick fix

The Experience

Each horse is welcomed into a calm, low-pressure environment designed to support true regulation, recovery, and transformation. From the moment they arrive, the focus is on allowing your horse to settle, decompress, and feel safe.

Arrival & Settling

Horses are given private turnout initially, with space to relax, observe their surroundings, and begin to unwind without pressure. Depending on the individual, they may then be gently integrated into a carefully selected herd environment - supporting natural behaviour, connection, and emotional balance. Turnout is prioritised, with horses living as naturally as possible throughout their stay.

Daily Care & Environment

Each horse is personally cared for on-site, with a high level of attention, presence, and connection. This is not a high-volume yard. Every horse is seen, monitored, and supported daily - ensuring their physical, emotional, and behavioural needs are consistently met. The environment remains calm, spacious, and intentionally low in stimulation to allow the nervous system to regulate fully.

1:1 Rehabilitation Sessions

All sessions are carried out on a one-to-one basis and are entirely tailored to what your horse presents on the day. There is no fixed routine or rigid structure. Instead, each session draws from a range of advanced modalities and approaches, selected intuitively and practically to support your horse’s individual needs.

Pacing & Integration

Sessions are carefully paced to allow for deep processing and lasting change. Horses are given space between sessions to rest, integrate, and release - rather than being pushed through a schedule. After deeper work, downtime is prioritised to support the body and nervous system in fully absorbing the changes. Time is also spent simply being with the horse outside of structured sessions - allowing trust and connection to build naturally.

The Approach

Throughout their stay, your horse is not forced, rushed, or expected to perform.

They are supported through a process that honours:

• Their nervous system

• Their emotional experience

• Their physical body

This allows patterns of tension, resistance, or shutdown to release in a way that is sustainable and genuine.

The Result

By the end of their stay, horses are typically:

• More relaxed and settled in themselves

• More responsive and willing

• More connected - both to themselves and to people

• Able to move and perform with greater ease and softness

Working Together

Every horse is unique, and ensuring the right environment and approach is essential for achieving the best outcome.

All new clients are asked to complete an application form, allowing me to understand your horse, their history, and what they require before offering a place.

This is where real change begins.

Stark's Story

From being in pain, unable to jump, reversing backwards and not having the emotional resilience to jump - to winning his showjumping classes, connecting on a deeper level and thriving in mind and body.

Stark came to me because he had severe emotional and mental trauma, a nervous system extremely on edge and pain memory. He had an accident when he was young, which he'd never recovered from. He was also pushed too hard too young, causing damage to his fetlocks - with bone chips having been removed. He had energy blocks and was very twitchy throughout his shoulders, withers and back. He had pain in his spine - mid-back and his lumbar.

He couldn't tolerate bodywork to begin with and found relaxing very difficult - he'd been guarded for a very long time. He was angry and had no boundaries because of this - he would have walked over you. He also had saddle trauma and was very tight in his neck, back, hind end and hamstring muscles.

Building trust with him was very important, once he started releasing his emotions, he could relax and start to heal. He slowly accepted bodywork and during his stay he released deep tension and pain.

I worked with his trauma throughout his stay, which he released layer by layer.

Toby's Story

From being an angry, sad pony in pain to a pony free of pain and happy to work with you. Toby came to me because the relationship with his rider had broken down, he became aggressive so was turned away. He had suspected back pain and negative behaviour when ridden. He'd lived out for months before coming to me at the retreat.

When he arrived, I’d describe him as being stuck in the sympathetic nervous system phase, with cortisol consistently being released into his system. This was causing his stress and insecurities. He was bargy with no respect for boundaries and wanted to be in charge. At first, he didn't like me working on the left side of his body and would manoeuvre himself to block me. Working with him was a process, I started with essential oils to help him relax. The oils he chose told me what was going on physically and emotionally for him. He chose oils for stress, depression, muscle soreness and joint stiffness.

Throughout his stay he's had a combination of therapies and training and has made huge progress. It became clear the reason he didn't want me working on his left side was because of his saddle and the pain it had caused. When I placed his saddle on him, he had one of the worst reactions to a saddle being placed, by leaping up and forwards when the panels made contact with his muscles at the back of the saddle. The saddle was too long for him, the panels were very hard, the saddle was asymmetrical and it wasn't the right shape for him.

The root cause of his issues was poor saddle fit, which caused pain and tension so when he was ridden he associated the pain with his rider, causing the negative behaviour. He also lacked leadership, making him feel insecure which heightened his dominant nature, leading to his bolshy behaviour and increasing the friction with his rider.

Session by session he released so much tension in his mind & body, his muscle tone, posture and mindset completely changed. He's now being ridden off lead rein by myself and a young rider and is especially enjoying the rides through the retreat woods. He originally came to me to resolve his anger, sadness and physical issues so to get him to a place where he's being ridden without pain is a huge bonus. His back feels great, he's lifting underneath me and using his body correctly.
